'Tis the season to be JOLLY

Fa la la la la  la la la la!
I'm sure you can guess what the theme is this week at

Yes! It's Christmas carolers!

I used one of the adorable singing elves from Mo's Digital images.
This one is called Wynn.
After I colored the image with my prismacolors I thought 'now what?'
I had no idea what to do with the background so I set it aside for
a while. I eventually decided on masking the elf, adding some
heat embossed snowflakes and then sponging on the sky.
I was really pleased with how it turned out but then got stumped as
to how to add the sentiment.
(My creative mojo has been taking some mini vacations lately).
After another day or so I decided to heat emboss the sentiment on gray
cardstock, cut it up into chunks and pop them up on some foam
sheets for dimension.
This card took a while to make but it does put a smile on my face when
I look at it. It reminds me of when my girls were little and would sing
Christmas songs.

Okay, now it's your turn.
Check out the DT's cards here and then I hope to see your
card in the gallery.

Spreading Christmas Joy!

It's that time of year when Christmas Joy is in the air.
But here at Christmas Card Challenges it's in the air all year long!
This week the theme is Candy Canes.

So, I decided to make a card that features Candy Canes and Joy. And this
digi image from Doodle Pantry called Mousie Joy fit perfectly!
I used my Prismacolor pencil crayons and had a blast coloring this image.
I had thought all along that I would add a sentiment but then realized
that the candy cane joy is the sentiment.

Now it's your turn!
Check out the rest of the DT's cards here and then I hope to
see your card in the gallery.

I Smell Snow

If you're a fan of Gilmore Girls then you understand the title
of this post.
This week at Christmas Card Challenges is an anything goes
challenge. I love seeing the variety of cards for these challenges.

I used a Mo Manning digital image called 'Soon'. It comes with the sentiment
you see on my card.  All the images on her site are adorable - you could see
for yourself HERE - she even has a sale on right now - but hurry as it ends today!
I kept my card really simple with just the image colored with
Prismacolor pencil crayons and a sentiment I printed out on my computer.

Happy Birthday Erin!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ERIN!
Our youngest daughter turns 18 today!!
Where did the time go? It doesn't seem that long ago when
she took her first steps or said her first words.

Cherish every moment because they grow up so fast.

Today I'm playing along with The ABC Challenge and the challenge this
week is 'T is for Three'.
I used three layers and patterns for the cake and three curvy candles -
I thought I had three patterned papers but it's actually four.
I had a die cut of Happy Birthday that I was going to put on the front
but I thought it was getting kind of busy so I put it inside along with some
punched out gold and pink patterned circles. I would have taken a pic
but I wrote in it before I thought to do so.

Happy Stampin'
and thanks so much for visiting!

Joy To The World

This week at Christmas Card Challenges we have a fun color challenge
for you. Not the usual colors one would think to use on a Christmas
card or project but that's what makes it fun.
My daughter Erin, challenged me to make a card in the style that I used to do
all the time - when CAS cards stressed me out - a card with more layers
and more embellishments.

Here it is.

I thought it would stress me out but this was a fun card to make!
I grabbed a bunch of different items and except for some ribbon - everything
made it onto the card.

Thanks for the extra challenge Erin :)

Now it's your turn.
Check out the rest of the Design Team's cards here and then
I'll see you in the gallery.

Thank You!

Hello All!
There's a great challenge this week at The Card Concept - check
out the fun image they have to help get the creative juices flowing.

My card was inspired by the flower, the colors and the black & white
pattern. I'd love to sit at this table and have tea with friends - it's so cute!

Peace on Earth

This week at Christmas Card Challenges we have a word
challenge for you and that word is...

GLITTER

I tried to get a picture to really show how much this card glitters in
person but as you may well know that's not an easy thing to do.  As
I look at the card sitting on my desk and the picture above - the
differences are great - I wish I could show you.

All I can suggest is that you need to get some silver glimmer
paper and see for yourself.

Make sure to check out what the DT has come up with to inspire
you. I look forward to seeing your card in the gallery!

Donut You Know

It's been awhile since I've shared any cards on my blog that
aren't for a DT commitment. Lately the only cards I've made
have been for commitments and not for fun so today I decided
to do something just for fun.
I'm playing along with the challenge over at
There's so many ways that the inspiration photo could get
your creative juices flowing again.

I was originally going to go in a different direction but when I looked
through my supplies I came across the Donut You Know stamp and
coordinating die set from Reverse Confetti and started making donuts
and ended up with this card.

A Cup of Cheer

I've been a little MIA the last two weeks. I started a new position
at the high school and I've been sick as well - still trying to recover
but LOVING my new job with the high school kids! Exhausting but
so much fun too!

The challenge this week at Christmas Card Challenges is a fun
one and a popular one right now too.

My Starbucks drink of choice is always an Oprah chai latte with
coconut milk or a chai frappuccino with coconut milk -
mmmmm so good! And lucky me to have a daughter who
works at Starbucks and keeps my cupboard stocked with tea.
What's your drink of choice?

Now it's your turn.
Check out the rest of the DT's cards here and then I'll see your
card in the gallery!

Anything Goes

Anything goes this week at Christmas Card Challenges. Actually it'll
be for two weeks so you've got lots of time to join in.

I cased this card from the Stampin' Up! Christmas Catalogue. I thought
that Santa looked incredibly cool and had to have the stamp and punch
set to make it -
The Happy is from a grab bag I received from a friend - sorry I don't know
the name of the die.

Now it's your turn. Check out the DT's cards and then join in the
fun. Remember you have two weeks to get your cards in.
See you in the gallery!
