Anything Goes at CCC

It's Sunday and you know what that means? It means it's time
for a new challenge at Christmas Card Challenges. This week it's
an anything goes challenge and those are always fun!

I used two retired stamp sets from Stampin' Up! that are still among
my favorites and I use them every year. I stamped the poinsettia twice
onto some vellum using versamark ink and then embossed them with
white embossing powder.
I didn't color the front of them - I colored the back of them with some blendabilities. If you do this I should warn you that the back does not look pretty at all but when you flip it back over and look at the front -
you'll definitely be impressed.
I cut the center out of one of the poinsettias and added it with
dimensionals over top of the larger one.

Now, make yourself a cuppa and head over and check out the rest
of the DT's cards. I hope you'll be inspired to play along with us.

Have a great day!

Heartfelt Wishes

I was reading Jen Carter's blog this morning and was inspired by
this post about a 'love you banner'. She was inspired by a book
called Paper Hearts by Courtney Walsh. I encourage you to check
out both those links. I'm sure you'll be inspired too.

The love you banner reminded me of the digital image from Tiddlyinks
called Heartfelt Wishes. While I was coloring the hearts I remembered
the current challenge at Addicted to CAS is to use the color red on
your card. I was unsure at first if leaving the girl uncolored would
work but in the end I really like how it turned out.

Make sure you head over to the Addicted to CAS blog and check
out all the inspiration.

Hugs & Kisses

Sending hugs & kisses today.

The cue card at CASology this week is ADORE. I thought it would
be perfect for a Valentine's Day card which is just around the corner.
I used some masking paper for the heart and the eraser on the
end of a pencil to 'stamp' the circles around the edge of the heart.
I peeled off the masking paper and thought WOW! I love this!

Head on over to CASology and check out all the inspiration.

CAS Birthday

Today I'm playing along with the challenge at Seize the Birthday.
It's a clean and simple challenge.
Their challenges are always fun - head on over and check out
all the cards!

There's no stamping on this card at all.
I used a retired stencil from Stampin' Up! for the background -
first I sponged over it with Chipped Sapphire distress ink from
Tim HoltzI then lifted the stencil and slid it over and up just slightly
and sponged it with Platinum Planet ink from Tsukineko
I love the way it turned out. The shimmer that's on the card is so pretty.
 I wish it photographed better.

I was only going to add the sentiment using a die from Penny Black
called Celebration but then opted for some balloons.
I sponged some of the same Platinum Planet ink on a scrap
of whisper white cardstock from Stampin' Up! and die cut
the balloons using Balloon Builders from Lil' Inker.

Owl I Want...

The challenge at Merry Monday this week is to make a card
that is only one layer.

I've always loved the pictures of white owls in the winter so I opted to
keep this owl white and use the Falling Snow stencil from
Simon Says Stamp! I really love how this one turned out and it
was quick and easy!

Make sure you head on over to the Merry Monday blog and check
out the amazing work of the design team and all the entries too.
They're really inspiring!

Christmas Card Challenge #8

It's time for another challenge at Christmas Card Challenges and
this week we have a color challenge for you. They're not colors you
would normally think of using when making Christmas cards which is what makes this challenge even more fun!

The background is made from a stamp called Curtis Background
from CAS-ual Fridays. You can purchase it individually or as part of the Girlfriend Collection. The snowflakes and the sentiment are from another
CAS-ual Fridays set called Snowy Sayings which was part of
Catherine Pooler's Stamp of Approval Holiday collection.

Happy Valentine's Day

I'm playing along with the challenge at The Paper Players. The
challenge is to make a clean and simple Valentine's card.

My card was inspired by Maureen Merritt of
Mama Mo Stamps and a card she made for StampNation

I made a stencil by using a heart die and sponged the heart with
Tim Holtz distress ink. I then masked the heart with some masking
paper and then stamped the En Francais background stamp over top.
I used the 'happy' from the Happy Holiday's die from Neat & Tangled.
I used fun foam to add it to the base.
The sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set. I used a sticky note
to cover the happy, inked up the valentine's day and added it with
a tiny strip of fun foam.

Warm Wishes

Today's card is for the current challenge at Merry Monday. The
host this week is Deanne and her challenge to everyone is to make
a Christmas card with your favorite warm beverage on it.

My goal for this card was to keep it CAS but still have a lot of detail.
By using the big piece of dsp and keeping all the rest at the bottom
of the card, I think I accomplished my goal.

Please, head on over to the Merry Monday blog and check out
all the DT's cards. Hopefully you'll be inspired to play along!

Oh What Fun!

It's time for another challenge at Christmas Card Challenges!
Check out the theme picture below.

I have to admit that I struggled with this one. I made a few different
cards that did not get the thumbs up from my DH and daughter - or me
until I made this one. This one has touches of gold in the embossed
sentiment, the floating stars and hearts and in the washi tape.

Make sure to hop on over to the CCC blog and check out all the DT's
cards. They're gorgeous and have inspired me to make some more.
I hope they inspire you to play along with us too.

Merry Christmas

I went shopping last weekend and used the gift cards that I
received for Christmas. I love gift cards because it's like
receiving two gifts - the gift of the card and then the gift
of shopping for stamping supplies. YAY!

The challenge at Merry Monday is to use plaid on your card. That's
a hard one for me because I'm not a big fan of plaid which made me
want to do this challenge even more. I've seen some amazing cards
using plaid but when I try to use it I'm never pleased with the result.
I tried a variety of ways to use plaid in larger portions on this card
but in the end I went with just a touch of plaid in the ornament.

I got to use my brand new Merry Ornament die from Poppystamps on
this. It's the first time I've used any of their products and I have to
say I'll be going back for more. I love it!

Love You Tons!

T.G.I.F.
This week has been a long and exhausting one. I don't think
I've ever been happier for it to be Friday.
Now it's time for a big cuppa chai and some stamping!

Today's card put a big smile on my face. I think those elephants
are adorable. It's a cute little set from Lawn Fawn called Love you Tons
and it has a coordinating die set too.
I love coordinating sets!

This would make a cute Valentine's card, anniversary card
or a just because card for someone you love. You could 'tie'
some balloons to the elephant's trunk and make it a birthday card.
They would be great on a baby card too.
So many ideas!

I am playing along with the following challenges:
Fresh Brewed Designs - anything goes
Addicted to Stamps - anything goes
Through The Craft Room Door - anything goes
Crafting With An Attitude - anything goes

Pinterest Inspired

I've been busy making Valentine's Day cards for the store.
I wasn't feeling inspired until I went and took a look at Pinterest -
that place is fantastic! So much inspiration!

I ordered a photo tent and a couple of lamps recently and they
showed up on Monday. I was so excited when it showed up because
I've been wanting one for such a long time, but I was having a terrible
time trying to get a decent photo.  I tried different bulbs from around
the house without any luck. I was sure there were supposed to be
some bulbs in the box but I couldn't find them - but my husband did.
He came walking into my craft room today when I was completely
frustrated, holding two bulbs - the ones that were in the box that
I missed.
We had a good laugh about that one.

I need to get busy and make some more cards.

A Joyful Time

It's time for another challenge at Christmas Card Challenges and
this week it's an anything goes challenge. My favorite kind.

This card was inspired by a student's travel mug. When I saw it,
this card instantly popped into my head. I couldn't wait to get home
that day and make it. I love how it turned out.

Make sure to head over to the Christmas Card Challenges, check out
the other DT member's cards and I hope you'll play along with us.

Besides the products listed below I used the following products:
Stampin' Up! Forever Young (retired)
Neat & Tangled Bright Baubles
Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Borders
Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle Dies
Lucy's Cards Bright White Little Things

Happy B-day 2 You!

For the first time in a week I woke up with energy. I have an
ear infection in both ears and it's worn me out. I get home from work
and pretty much go to bed but today I ran to to my craft room
to make a card before I leave for work.

I don't know what this technique is called but I LOVE IT!!!
You stamp in white ink first and then stamp the same image
again over top of the white but slightly off.
I love the effect.
The stamp sets I used are
 Flower Patch from Stampin' Up!
Bold Wishes from CAS-ual Fridays

I combined a few challenges for this one card -
The Paper Players - use a number on your card
CAS(E) this Sketch! - see below
colourQ - see below
