SEEING PURPLE

Good morning everyone! It's time for another challenge over
at Christmas Card Challenges and this week we have a photo
that we hope will inspire you.

I have to admit that purple is not a color I think of when making
Christmas cards. Actually it's not a color I think of using much at all but
I think this challenge has inspired me to use it more often.

For this card I used a variety of dies:
Seasonal Greetings - My Creative Time
Stitched Rectangle Stackables & Stitched Hillside Borders - Lawn Fawn
Bring on the Snowflakes dies - CAS-ual Fridays
I used the Harleen stencil from Catherine Pooler's latest
Stamp of Approval Collection and some distress inks from Tim Holtz
to create the background.

Check out the rest of the CCC design team and see what they have
created. I hope you'll be inspired to embrace the purple and
play along with us.

Inkspirational Pop!

It's a word prompt challenge at Inkspirational this week and
the word is 'POP'. There's so many ways you could take this
challenge and if you head over to the blog, you'll see so many
great cards that you'll surely be inspired, just as I was.

This card, surprisingly, took a lot longer to make than it should
have. It went through a few changes and more than a few
big smudges and one big blunder with some gold ink. It's
not even close to the idea that I started out with.
Does that ever happen to you?
Maybe I should celebrate the fact that I didn't give up on this
one and toss it in the garbage because in the end I do like
how it turned out.

Anything Goes at CCC

It's time to get your stamps out and get inky with us at
Christmas Card Challenges for an Anything Goes Challenge.

I think what I love the most about this card is that it's not 'traditional'.
There's no color that says 'Christmas Card' on it but it still works for
a Christmas card. The little sequin hearts are
from a sequin pack called Bright White Little Things from Lucy's Cards.
The tree is from Stampin' Up!'s Wonderland set and the sentiments
is from CAS-ual Fridays Snowy Sayings set. Both are embossed in white.

Check out the rest of the CCC design team and see what they
have created. I hope you'll play along with us.

Cupcake Anyone?

It's a cupcakes or candy theme at Seize the Birthday right now.
I thought of this image right away. Could you imagine a cupcake
that big?! I know my daughter could!

I used a stamp from Penny Black called Cake & Wishes and colored
it with my Blendabilities. As much as I love my blendabilities I'm
thinking it's time to start making the switch to Copics.
The sentiment is called Ice Cream Dream from Simon Says Stamp!

CAS on Sunday on a Tuesday

It's time for one more Valentine's card.
CAS on Sunday is doing a themed challenge and yup,
you guessed it - it's a Valentine's theme.

This was a fun card to make!
from Reverse Confetti to create a stencil. I used the stencil to
sponge on Picked Raspberry, Squeezed Lemonade and
Peacock Feathers distress ink from Tim Holtz and gave it a
little spritz of water to blend the colors.
The sentiment is one I found while cleaning up my craft room and
unfortunately it has no label so I have no idea which company made it.

I'm trying to use colors other than white for the card base and still
keep the cards CAS. So far I'm really liking gray and pink. I think they
both look fantastic with some geometric b&w pattern paper.
I have so much card stock that has literally been sitting on my
shelf for a few years so tonight I decided to cut a bunch up and
I'm going to be trying them out on some cards.

Judging by the pile of card bases I made, I'm going to be busy!

This time it was an amazing birthday collection! (Click on the link for
more details). The gifts you see in my card above are actually pieces of
topsy turvy cake that are part of a coordinating stamp and die set from
the SOA collection by SugarPea Designsbut when paired with that
ribbon/bow then they become gifts - Love that!!

So, hop on over to the Christmas Card Challenges blog and check
out the DT's cards. I sure hope you'll be inspired to play along with us!

SOA Goodness? What is that?
It's AMAZING is what it is!!!!

If you haven't heard of SOA (Stamp of Approval) then you have got to

This card makes me smile! I absolutely LOVE the topsy turvey cake stamp

Merry Christmas

It's time for another challenge at Christmas Card Challenges
and this week it's a photo challenge - check it out below.

This card took some time to make - not sure why - but I love how
it turned out. I die cut a circle from some Inkadinkado masking paper
and sponged the sky with some Tim Holtz distress ink. The deer is a
die from My Creative Time. For the sentiment I used a brand new die from Poppy Stamps called Merry Ornament with some glitter paper. I
cut off the ornament and just used the Merry.
I embossed Christmas in white and then decided it needed something
else so I added some falling snow with some white embossing paste
and called it done.

Head over to the Christmas Card Challenges blog and check out
the rest of the design team's cards. I hope you'll be inspired
to play along.

Have a great day!
