CCC #17

I love the colors in this week's challenge at

I was cleaning up my craft room when I came across a lined
notebook sticker. I knew right away that that was where my
card would start. I had some snowflakes left over from last week's
card and a piece of Kraft corrugated paper sitting on my desk.
That took care of half my card - a couple pieces of cardstock
with the edges torn and some twine and it's done.

Looking at it now I wish I'd used an embossing folder to add some
texture to the gray piece and sponged all the edges.
There's always the next card.

Check out the rest of the DT's cards here. I hope the
colors and the cards inspire you to play along.

Happy stampin'

Rustic and Glitter

We have a fantastic photo this week to inspire you at
I love the rustic feel of it.
While I really like how my card turned out, I could not get a
decent photo of it. For some reason I have a hard time
photographing cards with a side fold. Any tips for me?

I stamped the background with Stampin' Ups! Hardwood stamp using
soft suede ink on crumb cake card stock and sponged the edges. The snowflakes are die cut using some glittery paper - sorry, I don't
remember the brand. I love how they look against the rustic
background
The sentiment is embossed in white.
And that's it.
Another super quick and super easy card.

I hope you'll join us.

Merry Monday

I should have been packing tonight but instead I was in my craft room.
I've been wanting to play along with the challenge at Merry Monday
and had an idea tonight that went from one card to three and leftover
pieces to make even more.

I've had this Cabrini Ornament die from Memory Box for a few months
now but I think this is the first time I've used it. I don't know what I
was waiting for because I absolutely LOVE this die!

What Time Is It?

It's WINE o'clock somewhere!

I found this stamp in a clearance bin at Michael's and laughed out
loud. Some people looked at me funny but I just grabbed it and
knew right away who I was going to make a card for. It's from
Hot Fudge Studio's. I'd never heard of them before but I quickly
became a fan. The wine glasses are from a Fiskars set called
Aged to Perfection. The dsp is from a paper pack by Crate Paper.
Now that I think about it - I bought it all from Michael's - that was
a good shopping day!

Anything Goes at CCC

This week at Christmas Card Challenges it's anything goes.

When I envisioned this card in my head I wasn't sure if it would work
seeing as it's mostly just red and I usually stick to white card bases.
But I love it!!
It's super quick!
and
It's super easy!

Here's a little tip to make your whites whiter. Instead of stamping in
versamark, stamp first with white ink (one that doesn't dry quickly),
and then add your white embossing powder and heat set.

Click here to see what the rest of the DT has come up with.
I look forward to seeing your cards in the challenge.

Have a great week everyone!!

Inkspirational

I am beyond thrilled to say that I am a Guest Designer today

The challenge this week is a color challenge. These colors are
perfect for so many different themes. Check out the design team
and all they've created to inspire you. I hope you'll join
us in this fantastic challenge.

I didn't realize it until I was listing the products that I used on
this card but the only stamping I did was the outline of the
elephant. This was mostly die cuts. All the products are listed below.

Howdy

I've made a few masculine cards this week. I'm having
so much fun coloring that I haven't been able to stop. This one
uses a digital image from Just Inklined called Saddle Up.

I colored it in with some pencil crayons and then just stared at
it thinking - now what? I was stumped on how to put the card
together when I remembered that I've been wanting to try using
some dsp on 'weird' angles. I kept the sentiment really simple with
just the one word and thought 'howdy' was appropriate. Isn't that
how cowboys say hello?

I'm playing along with the following challenges:
Through The Craft Room Door - anything goes
Crafting From The Heart - anything goes
Jo's Scrap Shack - anything goes
Colouring in Scrapland - anything goes

Happy Birthday Cowboy

The sponsor for the current anything goes challenge at
happen to have a few of their images that've been begging to
be colored.

I opted to color the Boots and Stetson digi image with pencil crayons.
I'm still learning how to color with them and I'm not sure what I
think of the boots, but I love how the hat turned out.
I didn't have the sentiment I wanted so I printed one out, cut it apart
and backed each piece with some basic gray.

Merry Monday Buttons

I've kept it really CAS today!

The challenge at Merry Monday this week is to use buttons on
your card. I came across these buttons that I've had for a few
years and thought they would make cute ornaments. A few 'strings'
with a fine tip black marker and a sentiment and that's it.

Happy Birthday Dude!!

I don't often make cards for boys or men and I want to
change that - starting with this card. It's a digi image from
Anne Bodil and I thought it would be fun to color with some
pencil crayons.

I used the Lotsa Links die from CAS-ual Fridays to make
the border on the side. I flipped the die cut piece around and
added it back to the original piece and then added some black
cardstock into the empty spaces.
The sentiment was the hardest part of this card as I have come
to realize that I am really lacking in sentiments and stamps for
male cards. So I printed out my own and stapled it to the card after
adding a bit of washi and some bakers twine.

Happy Sunday!

It's Sunday and you know what that means?
It's time for another challenge at Christmas Card Challenges and
this week it's a fun color challenge!

Check out these colors!

I used some of Catherine Pooler's Stamp of Approval goodness
and a Hero Arts stamp set to make this card. I had some scrap
strips of dsp on my desk and one just jumped out at me. The
baker's twine was a great find at a dollar store.

Click here to check out what the rest of the design team came up with
for this challenge.
