Let It Snow

I absolutely LOVE the inspiration photo for this week's challenge
at Merry Monday. The theme is 'Let It Snow'. I love the rustic feel
of the photo so that's what I went with.

I used the Hardwood stamp from Stampin' Up!, the Falling Snow
stencil from Simon Says Stamp!. The Fir Tree die is Impression Obsession
and the snowy ground was made using Chunky White Deep Impression
Embossing Enamel from Stampendous with the stitched hillside borders
die from Lawn Fawn.

It reminds of when the snow would pile up against our barn at our
old place. It was up on a little hill and the way it looked all covered
in snow with the barn and some trees - I loved it! And I miss it!

I Donut Know

Hello everyone! I hope you are all well. We've got a nasty bug
making its way around right now so everyone here has been a little
under the weather which leads me to my card for today.

I'm late in sending out a birthday card to someone which had me
reaching out for the retiring Sprinkles on Top set from Stampin' Up! and
the Donut You Know set from Reverse Confetti. They pair perfectly
together!
Now to get this card in the mail!

I'm playing along with the following challenges:
Seize The Birthday - anything goes

Happy Stampin'
and thanks so much for visiting!

Make a Wish

Talk about priorities! I should be getting ready for work but
instead I had an idea for a card and I HAD to make it. What I
learned from this is I can get ready for work really fast!

This card is for the current sketch challenge at SugarPea Designs.
You should definitely check it out and while you're there - check out
the blog and the store - there is some top notch talent over there!

Now, I don't know the name of the stamp set I used. It's from
the last Stamp of Approval collection. SugarPea Designs teamed
up with Catherine Pooler for this one and it comes with a
coordinating die set. I've been calling it the Topsy Turvy Stamp set
because of the cake. Click here to see a card made with the cake
pieces.
The background is sponged using the Harleen stencil by Winnie &
Walter which was part of the same SOA Collection.

Enjoy The Journey

I love this old truck from Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Collection.
I don't know the name of the set but it has the sentiment in it as well
as an old car, a clock, a ticket, some arrows and more.

When I saw the challenge at Inkspirational right now is to use a
vehicle on your project, I knew I was going to use this one. I've been
waiting for a chance to use it. And sitting on the top of the pile of dsp
scraps on my desk was this strip of paper that looked a little like tire
tracks to me. This card kind of came together on its own.
Love it when that happens!

Now, go and check out the challenge at Inkspirational - and
hopefully you'll be inspired to play along!

Merry Monday...Finally

This is my second post for today - please scroll down to
see the Christmas Card Challenges post - thank you!

I've sat down at my desk 3 different times to make a card for
the Merry Monday challenge and have been pulled away each
time. I finally got it done this morning - just in time!

The challenge is to use purple, silver and white on your project.
I embossed the ornaments and the sentiment in silver on watercolor
paper.  The ornaments are colored in with dusty concord and shaded
lilac distress ink. Pretty simple really which is good because it
needed to be a quick card.

Happy Stampin'
and thanks so much for visiting!

Anything Goes at Christmas Card Challenges

I love the anything goes challenges. And that's exactly what we
have for you this week at Christmas Card Challenges

I used the Cabrini Ornament die from Memory Box. I bought it a
few months ago and have used it a lot! I love it!
I used dsp from my pile of scraps on my desk (it's a big pile) and some
cherry cobbler cardstock to paper piece the ornament.
The sentiment is from Christmas Carols by CAS-ual Fridays.

Head over to the CCC blog and check out the rest of the DT's cards.
I hope to see your card in the link!

Make A Wish

My wish is to not have allergies!
This week has been bad - I've literally hidden in my house for
the last two days. Which normally I would welcome so I could
stamp but I haven't had the energy.

I did manage to make one card for these two challenges:
Seize the Birthday - anything goes
Just Add Ink - "Just add M"

The"M" is the sentiment - Make a Wish.

I've really started to embrace using dsp lately- it can add a lot to the
design without a lot of work. I love the bold black & white stripes.
I found some old paper from Stampin' Up! that has a design on it
but you can't really see it until you sponge some ink over top.
I did that with some distress ink. It pops against the black.
The stamp set is from Catherine Pooler's Stamp of Approval collection.
And the sentiment is a die from Penny Black.

Happy Stampin'
and thanks so much for visiting!

Christmas Card Challenges #20 - Color Challenge

We're having a color challenge at Christmas Card Challenges this week
They're not your traditional colors which is what makes it even more
fun - something to take you out of your comfort zone.

I used some dsp for the gray colors, some sahara sand for the deer and
added some shading with some pencil crayons. The sentiment is stamped
in watermelon wonder.

I bought some Chunky White Deep Impression Embossing Enamel
the other day and couldn't wait to give it a try.  It wasn't the easiest
thing to use - but that could be the fact that it was my first time using
it. Hopefully it will get easier because I love how it looks.

Now, head on over to Christmas Card Challenges and check out the
rest of the DT's cards. I hope you'll be inspired to play along too.

Happy Stampin'
and thanks so much for visiting!

Think Pink!

I tried something new for today's card. I've been seeing a
technique called no-line watercoloring all over the internet and I've
absolutely been blown away by some of them - there are some
amazingly talented artists out there!
This is my first attempt at it - not bad but definitely need more
practice at it.

I was thinking of doing the flowers blue - don't know why - but when I saw
the challenge at CASology this week is to use pink on your project I
decided to switch to pink flowers.
I used picked raspberry, spiced marmalade and peeled paint distress inks
for the flowers. I then used some weathered wood to fill in the background.

In keeping with my promise to myself to use up that pile of dsp
on my desk I used pieces from that to mount the flowers onto.
A little sentiment embossed in white on black cardstock and
a few clear heart and small sequins and it's done.

If you haven't seen the no-line watercoloring technique I
encourage you to try it. It is so much fun!

Happy Stampin'
and thanks so much for visiting!

Ice Cream Anyone?

Have you checked out the Cupcake Inspiration Challenge Blog?
I spent some time there tonight and was really inspired by the
inspiration photo/theme for this week's challenge.
Can you guess what it is?

The theme is patterns.

This was so much fun to make! I don't normally use a lot
of color and patterns on my cards but I love how this turned out!
I think I'll be doing more cards like this one.
It reminds me of when I was a kid and the ice cream truck would
come into the neighborhood. I remember it being white with
pictures of brightly colored ice cream all over it.

Now, you need to head over to the Cupcake Inspiration Challenge
and check out all the great cards. Maybe you'll be inspired to
play along too.
