Anything Goes

We're having an anything goes challenge this week at

I used some Pthalo Green Ken Oliver Color Burst powder to make the
Christmas tree. Those powders are SO MUCH FUN!!! If you haven't
tried them yet I seriously recommend them.
I used the Branch Out Confetti Cuts dies from Reverse Confetti for the
tree. The star is from Neat & Tangled Bright Baubles stamp set.
The greeting is from Hero Arts CL722 - it has some great
Christmas sentiments and fonts.

you. I look forward to seeing your cards in the gallery.

Happy stampin'
and thanks so much for visiting!

Time to Color

Where does the time go? Really, I'm serious! It doesn't seem like a
week has gone by since the last challenge let alone 13 years since our
youngest child started school. She is graduating next Saturday and then she's
off to university!
It's been a whirlwind around here lately and there's still so much to do!
But right now let's get on with this week's challenge at
Can you guess what the challenge is by looking at my card?

It's a color challenge!
These are some of my favorite challenges
because you don't always get colors that are in your comfort zone.

I used the Bright Baubles by Neat and Tangled - I absolutely
love that tree because if you bend it a bit and only use one ornament
it becomes Charlie Brown's Christmas tree! The ornaments are
designed so that you can layer some of them - I didn't do that on
this tree and the sentiments - well they are just gorgeous! The fonts
that were chosen are beautiful and everything stamps so crisp and clean!
Can you tell that I love this stamp set?
You'll find the colors listed below.

I hope these colors inspire you and take you for a journey that
challenges you to stretch the boundaries of your comfort zone.
And that you have fun while doing it.

Now it's your turn -

inspire you. And I look forward to seeing your card in the gallery.

CAS Butterfly

The challenge at CAS on Sunday is
Butterflies.

I've had this daughter poem for years! I came across it the other
day when I was cleaning and knew I wanted to use it on my daughter's
grad card somehow.
My youngest is graduating high school in two week and then heading off to university! Where did the time go?
I didn't want to make a traditional grad card with a
cap or diploma and when I saw the theme at CAS on Sunday was
butterflies I knew what I was going to do.

I embossed the butterfly in white and then sponged on some
Tim Holtz distress inks. I cut the poem down and then added it to
the front. So simple.

The poem was too long to fit completely on the front so I put the
last verse inside and stamped a little butterfly.

and thanks so much for visiting!

Christmas Card Challenges #28

This week at Christmas Card Challenges we have a word
prompt for you. That word is 'Religious'.

Here is my take on the challenge.

I used a digital image from Mo Manning called In The Manger.
I colored it up with some pencil crayons and added some Spectrum
Noir Crystal Clear glitter pen to the wings. The sentiment is from an
old favorite from Stampin' Up! called Greetings of the Season.

Check out what the rest of the DT has come up with for you.
I hope to see you in the gallery.

Happy Stampin'
and thanks so much for visiting!

Time to Play

It's time for a new challenge at Christmas Card Challenges and you
know what that means? That means it's time to get out your supplies
and come play with us!
Check out the fun photo below that we have for you this week.
I was inspired by the ornaments but I went non-traditional with
the colors.

I embossed an old favorite of mine with black embossing powder onto
some watercolor cardstock. After I heat set it I got out some distress inks
and colored the ornaments in and added some shading. A simple sentiment,
some black matting and then it was ready to place onto a colored card base

Check out what the rest of the Design Team has come up with to
inspire you. I hope you'll play along.

Happy Stampin'
and thanks so much for visiting!

Hey June

The theme this week at Addicted to CAS is petals and since
it's June 1st it's also release day of the new
Stampin' Up! catalogue! I have to say that this one is
a great catalogue!

I was hoping to see a stamp and die set that had swirls and guess
what? They have one and it's awesome!!
It's called Swirly Bird and it has a matching die.

Check out the challenge at Addicted to CAS, get out your flower
stamps and dies, have some fun and play along.

When your done with that card, grab a big cuppa tea or coffee and
click here to see the new catalogue. It's definitely time well spent!
